Time Magazine’s 30th Anniversary of Punk Video Essay

In an interesting multimedia documentary of punk rock, Time Magazine has chronicled the “30th Anniversary of Punk” in an amazing photo/video montage of the front-runners of punk rock, including The Clash and The Sex Pistols, among others.
If you’ve got a little time to kill, I strongly recommend you check the video out. It’s brief, but still manages to cover most of the important acts that created the punk rock movement.

If you’re into the whole pop-punk thing, then you definitely want to check out Epitaph’s recent signing, Farewell.
They just posted a new track off their upcoming album for the label, entitled “First One On The Blog.”
I have to admit, they are undeniably catchy. Watch for their record Isn’t This Supposed to be Fun?, due out September 25th, 2007.

Reunion Posts New Song off Upcoming Self-Titled EP

The Portland, Maine five-piece Reunion has just posted a new song from their upcoming self-titled EP. The song, “Green Light” will be the first track on the album and was recorded at Dead Air Studios in Massachusetts.
While the official release date hasn’t been announced, the band hopes to release the EP sometime in October. I’ll keep you posted when more information becomes available.

Ah, man. It seems like last week flew by. I wasn’t able to give you your weekly music fix last week unfortunately (tear), so I’ll try to make up for that this week and give you several new songs to listen to! Hell yeah.

Millencolin Plans New Record

Good news!
There’s been talk between the members of Millencolin about working on their seventh full-length release. They’ll begin working on the upcoming release come November 1st.
This will be their followup album to 2005’s Kingswood.
While the band hopes to release their latest effort sometime during early 2008, as we all know, plans may very well change!

The Toasters plan Tour

New York City’s The Toasters are planning a tour next month to support their new album One More Bullet. If you’ve never heard of them before, I strongly suggest you check them out!
The first few weeks of September will have The Toasters hitting the US. Afterwards, you’ll find the band playing a few Canadian shows as part of their tour as well.
But UK fans don’t need to fret – the band will be hopping across the UK and Europe. These dates and locations have yet to be finalized. I’ll post more information when I have it.

NOFX Announce Title of Upcoming Live Album

Yes – you read the title correctly. NOFX is, in fact, releasing another live album.
They’ve Actually Gotten Worse Live doesn’t have an official release date yet, but according to the band’s Myspace the album is slated to drop sometime in November.
Their last live album I Heard They Suck Live was released in 1995, but NOFX swears they will not be putting any of the same songs on their upcoming record. However, there will be tons of re-recorded versions of old songs and rare songs.
