The B5Media network:

Sex Pistols Set to Record Again?

The Sex PistolsSomehow, this little tidbit managed to escape my radar until now. Better late then never, right?

In any case, it appears that there’s been talk of the Sex Pistols reuniting to record some new material – their first new songs in 30 years!

I’m not sure about you, but if it happens I’m DEFINITELY going to be excited.

While the likelihood of recording an actual album seems nil, the Sex Pistols hope they’ll have some new material ready by summer for their fans.

What are your thoughts? I’d like to hear ‘em!

Given the reviews of recent live shows, and Johnny Rotten’s appearances on mainstream media and (shudder) reality TV shows, I think you’re hoping for the impossible if you’re hoping for something worthy of the legacy. Nowadays Rotten and the surviving Pistols are about as punk as owning property and reading the Daily Mail, I’m afraid – and they’re not afraid to say so in public either.

    Two words – Cash. In.

Give your money to a young band that needs it, rather than one living fat of the hypocrisies of the past.

I understand where you are coming from, and perhaps I am hoping for the impossible; but, I am allowed to hope. Maybe the Pistols won’t create anything worthy of their legend, but we shall find out.

I respect your view, and you are certainly welcome to it.

Well, thanks dude – but by all rights (and in punk rock tradition) you should tear me a new arsehole if you really disagree! ;)

Haha – it’s dudette to you! (God, who says that anymore??)

Besides, isn’t punk about being true to yourself? I prefer to agree to disagree unless it’s something I’m truly passionate about. :)
