Happy Monday to all of you. First, let me apologize for my absence of late; I fell unexpectedly ill and have been recovering over the last week.

Monday Music Madness: The Johnstones

I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend and a lovely Mother’s Day, as well.

Now, let’s get the week started with some cool tunes from ska/punk outfit The Johnstones. Their new album “Sex” will drop June 3rd, but until then you can preview nine of their songs on the band’s Myspace page. Neato.

The Johnstones will be supporting their forthcoming album with a tour of Canada throughout May and June, and will also be making appearances at Warped Tour.

Monday Music Madness: Troublemake

Well, I am back from vacation. It was hot, tiring, and in all honesty pretty lame – I’m so glad I’m back with ya’ll!

Anyway, I digress.

This week’s Monday Music Madness features Florida pop-punk group Troublemake (no, I didn’t make a typo.) They just recently posted a track from their forthcoming EP Two Thousand Hate.

Check out “Rhetoric of Dope” here, and let me know what you think! While a firm release date has yet to be set for the album, the band hopes to have it out by the end of July.

Monday Music Madness: Captain, We’re Sinking

Pennsylvania based Captain, We’re Sinking (cool name, yes?) have uploaded their music video for the song “Breaking the Fourth Wall.”

The track the video is based on appears on their full-length album The Animals Are Out.

Monday Music Madness: Kingston Falls

Happy Monday, folks! Doesn’t this year seem to be flying by? I can’t believe it’s almost April already!

In any case, this week’s Monday Music Madness features Indiana-based Kingston Falls, who have been touring since March 18th. There are plenty of show dates up, and the band will be touring the middle of August.

Kingston Falls are supporting their recent release, “Armada on Mercury.”

Monday Music Madness: Flogging Molly

While traditionally I feature new or unheard-of bands on my Monday Music Madness feature, in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day I decided to showcase a little bit of Irish punk this morning. Who better to kick off the day than one of my favorite bands, Flogging Molly?

They’re playing 2008 KEDJ St Patrick’s Day Bash in Tempe, AZ today and have a bunch of other show dates lined up through the next couple of months as well. If you’re in the area, I strongly encourage you to get yourself to a show.

You can also check out some of their music videos, or listen to some tunes to get you in a festive mood.

Whatever you choose to do today, celebrate in style with some great music from Flogging Molly, and have a happy, safe St. Patrick’s Day.

Monday Music Madness: Millencolin

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your weekends were fantastic. I just want to warn everyone in advance, if you notice errors of any kind, bear with me – I’m suffering from a nasty headache that just won’t quit.

I digress.

In actual Monday Music Madness style, Millencolin has posted the first video from their upcoming album Machine 15. Believe it or not, this will be their first release in three years since 2005’s Kingwood. It’s about time!

The album will drop May 6th via Epitaph Records, but you can check out their first video below. Stay True!

Monday Music Madness: Set Your Goals

Alright, ladies and gents – today’s Monday Music Madness features Set Your Goals and a cover version of The Police’s “Message In A Bottle.”

It’s pretty interesting, when you think about a punk band covering THAT song – but I strongly encourage you to check it out. It’s actually pretty decent, in my humble opinion.

In other news, the group’s hard at work coming up with new material for a follow-up to their last album, Mutiny!.
