Punk’s Not Dead DVD

I wrote about the “Punk’s Not Dead” documentary during the summer of last year – I had no idea it had been so long. The documentary chronicled the past 30 years of punk music, and interviewed legendary bands that helped shape this diverse music form into what it is today.

Beginning in March, PBS stations across the United States will be showing a documentary chronicling some of the history and live performances behind legendary punk rockers, The Clash.

New Movie to Star The Black Lips as DIY Punk Pop Band

New Movie to Star The Black Lips as DIY Punk Pop Band

I ran across an interesting news tidbit today.
Plans are in the works to create a fictional movie following a DIY (Do it Yourself) punk-pop band in the 1980’s called The Renegades.
The film, entitled “Let It Be” will attempt to show what the underground music scene was like in New York during this time period, and they’ve established that The Black Lips will star as the movie’s protagonists.
You can read more about “Let It Be” here.
