Sex Pistols Set to Record Again?

Sex Pistols Set to Record Again?

Somehow, this little tidbit managed to escape my radar until now. Better late then never, right?
In any case, it appears that there’s been talk of the Sex Pistols reuniting to record some new material – their first new songs in 30 years!
I’m not sure about you, but if it happens I’m DEFINITELY going to be excited.
While the likelihood of recording an actual album seems nil, the Sex Pistols hope they’ll have some new material ready by summer for their fans.

What are your thoughts? I’d like to hear ‘em!

New Movie to Star The Black Lips as DIY Punk Pop Band

New Movie to Star The Black Lips as DIY Punk Pop Band

I ran across an interesting news tidbit today.
Plans are in the works to create a fictional movie following a DIY (Do it Yourself) punk-pop band in the 1980’s called The Renegades.
The film, entitled “Let It Be” will attempt to show what the underground music scene was like in New York during this time period, and they’ve established that The Black Lips will star as the movie’s protagonists.
You can read more about “Let It Be” here.

Now the band has revealed what the album will really sound like with a track available for preview.
Their second live album is a follow-up to 1995’s I Hear They Suck Live and will drop November 20th, 2007 via Fat Wreck Chords.
You can find the track “Lori Meyers” here. Are you excited yet? I am!

The Copyrights Post New Song Online

The Copyrights Post New Song Online

Illinois quartet The Copyrights have posted a new song online, entitled “Charlie Birger Time.”
If you want your daily dose of pop-punk goodness, I seriously suggest you check it out.
From what I can surmise, the song will be featured on an upcoming release The Copyrights have planned.
Apparently, it will be released via Red Scare Records sometime in 2008.
Check out the track on their Myspace page, and if you haven’t already, pick up The Copyrights latest album “Make Sound” which was released earlier this year.
