Me First and The Gimme Gimmes Cover Willie Nelson
I have to admire Me First and The Gimme Gimmes for choosing to cover country star Willie Nelson - and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about their upcoming vinyl, “Willie.”
Currently, the square-shaped vinyl will be released on December 11th, 2007. (What a perfect Christmas gift - hint, hint! ;))
It will include “On the Road Again”, which originally appeared on Love Their Country and City of New Orleans.
Stay True!

3 opinions for Me First and The Gimme Gimmes Cover Willie Nelson

One, “square shaped vinyl” too cool! Two, I love when punk or ska bands cover the not ordinarily normal to them. As a rule I don’t love covers but for some reason punk and ska seem to have a cover edge. It always interesting.

I agree Jennifer! I’m not usually a fan of covers either but I’ve loved MFATGG for a long time and, like you, love it when punk/ska bands branch out of their “comfort zone” and do something completely different with covers.

hey you Two, why is that? I’m doing a Gimme tribute band, and the response is overwhelming. I heard the Gimmes do an unreleased Bob Dylan tune on the sirius “Fat Wreck Records” weekend. I think it’s the Fifth 7″… and by Fifth I mean 750ml! + Mar 08 next Gimme album, “Have another Ball” WOOHOO!
