Holy Smokes, Batman. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this earlier.
Susan Dynner, director/producer and self-professed punk rock aficionado created the documentary “Punk’s Not Dead.” I am SUPER excited to check it out, although it still hasn’t been released in a theater near me yet. Bummer.
The documentary will put in stark detail the last 30 years of punk rock music. It will take you behind the scenes of the punk community where you will be up close and personal with punk as it was then and what it’s become now.
Punk’s Not Dead will feature performances and interviews from classic punk icons such as Minor Threat and the Ramones; bands like Bad Religion, Rancid and the Casualties and modern punk bands like Sum 41 and Green Day.
As it stands, the film has been slated to appear in select cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Cambridge, New Orleans, Tuscon, Williamsville, Portland and San Francisco.
Unless you’re lucky enough to live in one of these cities, get thee on a road trip! This should be a must-see on your summer movie list.

Hey just came to visit the only girl besides me on the “having fun” thread. This movie looks pretty cool — the old school stuff anyhow, I’m less of a new punk music fan. But I’d hit it. For the oldies.

Yeah I know what you mean. From what I’ve heard thus far, the movie pretty much trashes a lot of the new-school punk bands mentioned. But it could just be rumors - who knows! :)
