According to this article, artist Fiddian Warman created 6 foot tall robots to listen to – and actually LIKE – punk music; oh, and there’s dancing too.

In an effort to create a robotic version of his younger self, Warman created the robots to be controlled by a neural network. This means the robots can actually learn, so Warman has apparently been playing classic punk music to the robots in an attempt to turn them into pogo-ing (yes, they can pogo too), punk loving robots.

Sound weird? Yeah, it is – but if you happen to be in London from July 3rd to 5th, you may consider hopping by The Institute of Contemporary Arts to catch the show.

What do you think? Weird? Awesome? Speechless? Whatever the case may be, I want to hear your thoughts about these punk robots.

I’m basically typing with one hand, so please bear with me if there are any errors. On to Monday Music Madness! Those who aren’t fans of hardcore “screamo” punk should stay away from “Clawing,” the latest track posted by Rise and Fall.

If you’re into that sort of thing however, check it out! It’s the latest song to be released online and will be featured on their upcoming 3-song self-titled 7″ EP.

The EP will be released via Deathwish Inc, and you can expect a full-length album from the band sometime in early 2008. You can order the EP here.

I digress.

While it doesn’t have to do with punk music in the conventional sense, it has plenty to do with the spirit of punk rock – and let’s face it, punk rock is spirited.

I’m talking about Punk Rock Yoga, which I happened to run across in one of my aimless internet searches (yeah, I do that a lot.)

According to their mission statement, “punk rock yoga isn’t… yoga to punk music. [It's] a punk rock approach to yoga…[without] the pomp and circumstance creeping its way into yoga today.”

Huh. Sounds interesting. Right now, there only seems to be classes in the Seattle, New York and Toronto areas. However, I did notice a section on their website about starting a Punk Rock Yoga class in your area.

I think it’s a neat concept, and the fact they draw their inspiration from punk rock music leads me to believe it could be of interest to you.
